Where to take amp live feed from ?

me and my mate went to halfords today because he wanted to get a new sub and he wanted them to fit it, the guy fitting it connected the amp live feed direct to the battery and just clamped the wire under the quick release clamp on the battery, and my mate said cant you take it from the fuse box at the top right of the engine bay and the guy said no the amp live feed always has to come direct from the battery, so where would be the best place to take the amp feed from?

Battery is correct but running through its own inline fuse.
Remote from back of the head unit.

I think there is a thread on here where you can run the live feed through the fuse box but i just put an in line fuse on the wire

ok cheerz for your quic replys lads just wanted to know where you lot think best place was to the feed from :)

only done mine 2 days ago, run it from the battery over the splash
guard on the passenger side and in the car through a grommet for the wires to the door. Quick and easy :p

my wiring kit had a 40amp fuse on it, wire it str8 thru the bulkhead grommet and into the engine, clipped on to battery under clamp

Well put it this way mate. If your running some decent power then you will be using 4 gauge cable. Well the fuse box power feed is only 8 guage so it doesnt really matter how big cable you use the power feed to the fuse box will be always be restricted.

Either is fine mine is on the fuse box though. :) As it was easier at the time.

i do it in the fuse box it's neater. whoever said it has to be from the battery is a tit

yea either is fine but fuse box is alot neater for tucking wire away.
