Anyone know if they fit aftermarket back boxes? its direct fit but apparantly it needs welding :geek: its sportex twin dtm so does anyone have any expierence with sportex and is it a case of buying another clamp, if so which one, or does it have to be welded? thankyou :)

It doesn't need any welding, who told you that? I had one on my old saxo, simply need another clamp, not the shitty U clamps though, a proper exhaust clamp which is circular, tucks the flanges right underneath it and bolts either side. A little exhaust paste also wouldn't go amiss but alot of people are using silicone gasket compound instead, which is actually better. If you have a little experience in cars etc, you could do this job yourself easy!

A little off subject, but..
I'm never buying tyres from them again. I basically had 2 bald tyres which I luckily spotted before being pulled over, so I went to National Tyres after work (closest tyre shop) and got 2 budget tyres fitted (yeah, i was skint!) these still cost me £40 each and they are "Tigar" tyres. Alls I will say is, if you have these on your car, DO NOT go out in the wet.

Yeah me and my mate tried fitting it with the standard clamp then we got another opinion and got told it has to be welded.

That's the problem, it won't fit with the shitty U clamp's.

That's the one you need, but it needs to be wide enough to cover the flanges underneath. Don't be tempted to over tighten it though, you'll bend the flanges immediately.

Yup!
It really annoyed me because if I had travelled another 5/10 minutes, I could have gone to a smaller garage and got a slightly and I mean slightly part worn Continental for £20!
