Car randomly broke down

sort of strange but anyhow
i was driving along a back road and then there was a temporary traffic light so i stopped. then as i was waiting i smelled a very strong smell of petrol and noticed the revs were at 0 and the car wasnt making any noise. so i tryed starting her back but nothing, could hear it trying to turn over but wouldnt kick into life.:wall:
so i got out the car and noticed a massive pool of petrol underneath the engine so i opened the bonnet and had a look (even though im not that good with all the technical stuff) i thought maybe a pipe had burst or something and then i had a look at where else it could have came from and noticed the sensor/plug on the fuel rail had came out so i plugged that back in and then i started her up and thankfully she started.:y:
im not exactly sure why it would be pissing with petrol and not starting when trying to turn over if a sensor/plug has come out, anyone know why and what sensor it is ?
all i know is i dont want it to happen again as i crapped myself.

You can pour petrol onto a hot manifold and it will just burn off and evaporate instantly.

I wouldnt recommend trying this like..

Happened to me as well, to get it back on, you need soo much pressure - so keep going until it clicks loudly and feels firm, else it'll keep coming off

i lost quite abit of petrol was pretty pissed about that tbh haha
i mean i never had any problems with my fiesta and i was expecting the saxo to break every now and again haha but so far when its not started its simple stupid things.
first time the neg terminal came off on the battery.

Depends how well lucked after your saxo is?? once in a blue moon my vts plays up!! :panic:

When you work on cars you end up covered in petrol,oil,greese ect...:homme: great fun realy........:p
