Hi guys i have a jvc kd - lhx551 and im trying to figure out do i wire the aux wires into the subwoofer out or put it into line out instead, as there is a problem im getting with my sound and thats my headunit has a lpf and sub level built in and its messing with my amp lpf settings and making it sound to muddy and not clean bass.

I cant turn off the subwoofer level that goes from 0 to 8 , i also have 3 setting modes for the lpf and thats 55hz 85hz and 112 hz, currently ive set it to level 7 and 85hz. so basicly im trying to cut off the subwoofer lpf in my hu and let my amp do the work instead. So im thinking that instead of going into subwoofer out which i think activates the lpf and gain level on the hu and plug it into the line out and that should shut the subwoofer control off . What do you guys think about that i hope you can understand this lol

Heres my Headunit layout

Connect the RCA leads to the sub output - thats what its there for after all.

You should be able to turn the lfp on your HU off anyways. Its nice to have some control on the Hu for the sub aswell. Id personally use the sub out. oh n if you were to set the lpf on the HU to 112hz and the lpf on the amp to say 50 hz nothing above 50 would play mate. Your amp can still do the work even with the lpf seting on the HU.

Hi yea i tried that but it sounds terrible it dont sound deep clean enought ive put it into the line out instead of the sub out and it sound hell of alot better but ive lost a tiny bit off bass but sounds alot better.

I really dont know if theres a function to turn the sub level and that off when using the sub out. Now ive put it into line out its disabled the subwoofer function in the head unit.

Im only using a 2000w legacy sub with a 1000w amp so maybe i need a sub system like vibe 1600w active sub and keep it plugged into the line out instead of the hu sub out and using lpf on that and that should be more powerful than before.

God knows tho i just cant seem to sort it out ive emailed jvc to ask how to turn the lpf off on head unit and see what they say. But thanks ever so much to everyone for helping me. Please do keep the help coming thanks again :)
