Huge crash. Just proves how good the safety is these days. As Coulthard said on the tv, should the Lotus have even been trying to defend against the Red Bull as it is in a different league at the moment compared to the Lotus. Seriously lucky to walk away though, especially as it flipped and hit the ground the wrong way up.

The lotus should get a some nitrous so he can go faster n prevent these problems.
Seriously lucky though, from one angle looked like he landed on his head! Didnt though.

From my experience people in the heat of battle never think about these things. I guess I would have done the same if I was in the Lotus.

go to main General chat and double click just to the right of your title :)

basically as Coulthard said, fault is on both sides, Kovalainen should have known that Webber had a much faster pace than him although fair play for trying to defend his position, Webber though could have taken less slipstream as in that position, as soon as Kovalainen touches the brakes he was bound to go over.
At least they're both ok, estimated, 190mph when they collided!

I love how he just threw the steering wheel out aha. Was bit of a boring race tbh. Think Ferraris were very very unlucky, and Hamilton lucky. Kobayashi was impressive I thought too.

Yeah he did, le mans looks worse though. In 1999 there was a guy that flipped out of the track.

If Coulthard had his way they would all race with remote control's.
"Oh it's too dangerous!" Fack off then. I would race in F1 for half the money these guy's get.

incredible crash... when he was flying through the air i went mental, was certain he would have been seriously hurt, the safety of the cars is amazing but still webber was so so so lucky that all the speed was taken out of the car before he hit anything and in the end hit the soft tyre wall, all it took was for the car to fly over the barriers on the right (from his pov), hit a bridge or something and it probably would have been fatal. very lucky.
