spoke to a moderator earlier and i'm going to put together some bodywork/painting/interior guides to help everyone out, i can do pretty much all types of smoothing/custom bodywork and painting and some interior work

just wondering what guides people would like me to do?

the guides will have lots of pictures and i'll guide everyone through processes including links for where to buy materials etc

so what guides?

also i'd need panels to do these processes on for the guides, so maybe a good way for some people to get some stuff done for free/small charge

a very popular one would be foglight smoothing.

and possibly a fibreglassing one in genral!

mirrorblanks
27th June 2010, 22:44
foglight smoothing isn't a problem, doing a bumper with smoothed fogs 2moro so can do that then

also theres a few different processes for fibreglassing so would need to hear what people would want doing

frankie
27th June 2010, 22:46
well, people are always asking how to do fog lights.

maybe with fibreglassing, just a few different techniques, and do and donts sort of thing.

mirrorblanks
27th June 2010, 22:47

yer i put strips the delited it i dont know why

ye i will do, but i'll have to have a volenteer for quite alot of these, don't have the spare cash at minute to just go buying bumpers to do this with

saxo_furio17
27th June 2010, 23:46

mirrorblanks

no sorry, i'm doing guides here so would do all the prep and take pics to show people what to do, also i don't mean to offend when i say this but i just don't trust anyone but myself when it comes to prep work, when i've done it i know i've done it right

the bumpstrip and smoothed fog suggestions are good ones, fibreglassing a bootbuild would also be of help im guessing.

mirrorblanks
27th June 2010, 23:58
ye was thinking a fibreglass boot build because theres a few ways of doing them, so maybe do a few and then sell them, can also show how to paint them and trim them

keep the ideas coming

While your doing the smoothed fogs you could remove the bottom grill too to make it an open grill. I'd volenteer for the whole front bumper doing? Smoothed fogs and wide mouth grill. Its not a probelm dropping the car off in liverpool. How much do you reckon paints would be? :y:

I can give you a whole car which you can play around with how much in paint costs are we thinking and where you located

I think a general plastic welding guide and filling etc for things like boot lips etc, Lots of people trying it and they don't know what they're doing :p

Also I'm thinking of putting a couple of gauges into the centre console where the vent was or the drivers side air vent, A guide for that would be good :)

I'm in Wakefield if you need a volunteer, can probably come across

mirrorblanks
28th June 2010, 12:05
plastic welding and filling will be part of bumper smoothing guides

Joe

I think making a widemouth or cutting the virtical slats out and another on
smoothing different bits of the boot.

a simple hot to remove the body kit and plastic trim peices on a vtr. alot of people want to replace the black plastice with a more gloss like paint finish. a simple how to like that would help alot of people out. it seems like an easy job but can be tough for some people like me lol.
