You will have great fun. Only thing I would say is check you have plenty of brakes left before you go and take a torque wrench with you. Or at least a wheel brace. I have lost count of how many wheels I have seen fall off because people have not tightened then up after each run.

a stripped out vts on decent tyres can get round cadwell surprisingly fast, and will offer alot more fun than some much more expensive machinery

Hot hatchback-wise VTS's are pretty solid on tracks.

no im not booked atm. just got a new saxo and i dont want to track it yet. (but its so much fun so il probably end up doing it anyways) but i shall come along and have a look :) you got a passenger with you? any room for me? haha.

i found i got held up in my saxo vtr by bmw's and the like through the corners. a saxo vts will be quick around a tight and twisty track like cadwell.

like said before, keep check of brakes, fluid levels and that your wheels are tight. great fun!

I did a novice evening last year (even though I had been round a few times before - oops)

I had a great time. I was very surprised at how good I was and how much more confident I felt. A few spectators even commented to Stew on how I was getting the right lines, etc.
For me, it was great to get back into the pits and see the look on the blokes faces who I had been overtaking was priceless.
Stripped VTS, 888s and good suspension/brake setup = very good. People who asked how much power it had didnt believe it was proven 118BHP

Novice days are great as you're not going to get hassled by big power cars with "experts" behind the wheels. Use the day wisely to learn the track. Ive got lots of YouTube vids for cadwell (search sexy_gt cadwell in the title) to give you an idea of the lines.

Good luck and have fun :)

The car is regardless to a certain degree. Ive passed many cars which youd class "out of my league" including Atoms, caterhams and exiges.

Even a white e30 318is (stripped. caged and 888's) was passing them because they where that "green behind the ears" monday when i was at Combe.

Make sure your cars safe ie oil, tyre pressures etc and get out there and enjoy youll soon see what you need/want to change.

Hi Stew,

such a shame you are busy, for me (not for you ;)), that would be superb if you could come to me as i dont think my trailer is going to be ready and i have lost confidence in attempting it myself, whens the next time you a free mate, my trackday is booked for 3rd august, is there any chance you could do it anytime before then :y:. Im on holiday from work from 28th july - 10 august.
