Last Nights Weather

Morning people,

Well last night, I was happily asleep until I heard an almighty rumble of thunder and crackle of lightning - it was pouring down with rain and the lightning was not far from me at all!

There was also some power cuts in the area.

Did anyone else get woken up by the thunder and lightning?

If so, how bad was it?

loads of people got woke up round my area (facebook) and my mam and dad did but i slept right through.. the old man was surprised when i said i didn't even know it had been thundering

It was really surreal though as when I woke up due to the thunder, I was facing my window and then another strobe of lightning came down and I shat it!

Just like something out of a film, very weird.

+1. Had some rain up here (Manchester atm) and it was pretty constant. Best night's sleep I've had in ages, it's been incredibly stuffy before then.

Can't stand summer when it gets like this. Not exactly enjoyable..

I didn't hear any thunder, but it did rain a lot before I dropped off....and had a much better nights sleep....thankfully :)

It was thunder and lightning like you've never seen before, really like something out of the movies.

Supposibly it was a mini storm too :/.

Got heavy rain at about 12am, and then later on about 5am. Didn't amount to much but still welcome.

Soooo refreshing though, no rain here for a fortnight, and most of the grass has gone brown.
