hi there people i have a problem with my t reg mk1 vtr. it will start fine when its nice and cold but idles bad i have changed the idc and all the sensors on the inlet but this has made no difference tried cleanning the connection on my ecu aswell. when the car is warm it becoms hard to start it winds over but takes ages to start and when it starts up it idles all over the revs. please could someone shed some light on this problem i am having thanks.

when you changed the icv was it new or used? also was it the same model number?

it was used m8 and i no it was a good one as i took it off my last saxo and had no problem with it. yes the numbers on it were the same

probably a sensor, i'd get it plugged in.. my suggestions would be ICV, you've changed that so Throttle position sensor, Crank sensor or MAF sensor

Try cleaning the crankshaft sensor. (I cleaned mine with very fine wire wool)Its located on the clutch plate housing. They tend to accumalate crap which I presume comes off the clutch plate, as it wears down. (It looks like iron fillings sticking to a magnet ) It seems to be attracted to the sensor. My car was running like shit for ages, then I actually cleaned it by mistake, ran perfectly after. Worth a try. Good luck.

i tried loads of things to try and cure this problem but i gave up the other day and sent it to a garage and it turned out to be the temp sensor. thanks for all the surgestions though people much apreciated :)
