basically i want to put some banded steels on the sax, atm it has vtr wheels but at the back the tyre is sitting in the arch by about half an inch. Would i get banded steels with about 3 to 4 inch band on without the tyre hitting the arch due to the sticking out a bit?

If you have stretch tyres then should be fine.

depends on what steelies you use to start with, offset after banding aswell and overall width

well they are et15 or thereabouts to start with, they will end up negative et by the time they are banded

will that be ok then, if i band a et 15 steel by about a 3 inch band will it clear the arch?

with banded steelies the band is 99% of the time put on the outside, so just fit the standard steel to car and get a tape measure and measure 3 inches outwards from the lip/rim, you'll see if itsdo able or not then

pics of wheels now have no relation to where they will sit tbh, you'll need a steelie to fit and then measure
mirrorblanks
6th July 2010, 17:52
pretty wide tho lol
only 7.5'' and 8.5''
steve01536

is how wide he can go before having any trouble...
my wheels are 7.5" and i have 20mm spacers on the back :)

6th July 2010, 18:02
you can go wider than 8.5 though, quite a few people running 9'' rears and seen 9.5's on a belguim saxo

i think 8.5 on the arse is plenty of poke myself, stance is stop on IMO

lol you reckon they would squeeze under then ? his looks lower than mine in that for sale pic so should be ok plus the tyre stretch would help, wonder if he still wants to sell
