When driving home the engine management light came on,

the engine has started to missfire when accelerating in low revs.

Had it on diagnostics and it came up

Stepper motor
o2 sensor
CAT insufficiency

Would i just need a new lambda sensor to cure the problem or is it a new cat?

ANY help is most appreciated
Thank You

Hi,

It could be both. ALso, the stepper motor will not set the engine warning light, but may also be contributing to the problem.

I thourght the stepper motor would throw an error because then the engine miss-fires the revs drop,

Would it be worth trying to clean the o2 sensor or is it a new sensor jobi?

Cheers

Hi,

I meant that an ICV fault may trigger an error but it will not be the cause of the engine warning light.

You cannot clean an oxygen sensor.
