then a couple of weeks after that (which was only 1-2 weeks ago from now) some old women decided to put onto a duel carrige way and did this to my car! also ended up in a ditch on my side :( :wall:

I bought a standard VTR 02 number plate with 75k miles yesterday for 1,200... dunno if that was a good price or not but I guess it gives you a rough idea.
Were all your mods declared?

I dont think they will tell you there and then....
They will usually come back to you over the phone with an offer...
The 1st they usually give is very low.....
So get on ebay, autotrader and look for cars the same age and roughly the same mileage and you want to give the insurance company examples of the highest quotes,so you can get the best deal...
Gd luck with it m8!
wow how did you do that come on tell us the story?

you were right, they didnt tell me there and then, which i thought would happen anyway. the guy said its defently a write off though as the shell alone would be 2 grand. he said because all the money we spent on the car after we got it we can send him all the reciepts etc and we should be able to get that all back :D

wow how did you do that come on tell us the story?
I was driving on a dual carridgeway at about 60-70 mph which was a long sweeping bend, but you can see a long way on it, i was in the right hand lane and saw there was someone waiting to pull out of a garden centre, and because i know what people are like, i came of the gas a bit and stayed in the right hand lane thinking if she did pull out i would be fine as you would normally pull into the left hand lane first and built up speed, correct? but no she pulled out straight into the right hand lane, after looking at cctv footage from the gate of garden centre i passed 2 seconds after she pulled out, so she must of been going what, 15-20 mph tops? so ive stamped on the brakes and tried to turn around her, maybe a silly thing to do as i have no abs but that was my imediate reaction, ended up sliding sideways and my rear right end him the back of her, which then span me in the oposite direction and ended up sliding along the grass verge until hitting a road sign with the passenger door, which then propelled me into the ditch onto the side of the car. had a passenger in the car and we were both fine, i got an abrasion on my eye which we thing was a bit of glass but nothing major at all, after climbing out the car we went over the women who pulled out infront of us and she claimed she didnt see me! (she was quite old). to start with she had told her insurance company she was established in lane two, and in the end she admitted it was her fault.police said we were very lucky to get out of the car alive.
sorry for the long story but you asked :A:

this is why old people need to be retested at a certain age.

well, the guy who evaluated the car has put a value of 2100 on the car, which still isnt as much as i've spent on the thing, but thats still not a definate figure, just a waiting game. and i dont want to sell anything of it as most of it will go on my next car! but anything thats still alive and i dont want to use will be for sale and will let you all know when the time comes.
