It's really simple.

Remove the door card.

Cut a slice into the damp proof material close to the lock.

Put your hand into the hole and have a feel around for a thin bar running horizontally across the door.

There is a vertical bar joined to the horizontal bar (this is the door pin)

Simply hook your finger round the bar and give it a tug towards you, it will unclip.

Just pull the door pin free of the door and insert gromit.

takes 5 mins a side

Just to add you don't have to remove the lock and the mechanism as suggested in the linked guide above, no idea why that was recommended.

so am i right in saying ( on my mark 2 ) if u de pin... the only way of locking it is with the fob ? You cant lock with key from outside if the fob decides to die.... i was under the impression the ONLY draw back was that you cant lock from the inside by popping notches down..

You can still lock from the outside if you de-pin.

The op has delocked his car so can only unlock/lock the doors with the fob.

If you have locks they can still be used as normal after removing the door pin.
