Do they go a dark black ?
If not should i take them off (which is easiest way?)
And respray them ??

If you want them really shiney afterwards then use some tyre dressing or trim restorer.

T-cut would be best and easiest. Done mine a week or 2 ago, heres the before and after pics on flikr:

Thats without any bumper shine or tyre dressing, looks a load better imo!
