Sometimes i get a slight crunchin into gear, Its usually in first 2nd and reverse... Bite on clutch is quite high tbh aswell.

Just wondered if new gear linkages would sort the wobbly stick.. Or could it be further damage? like the selector or somet.

As for the high bite is that my clutch going or could something need adjusting ?

The wobbly gear stick will be from a perished rubber, this is located at the end off your gear stick shaft, where the gearlinkages connet to the g.stick shaft (a large ball joint, the rubber inside the housing needs replacing) the crunching of gears could be from either lack of g.box oil (easy enough to top up) or your clutch needs adjusting, which could also result in a high biting point. I hope all that made sense, im using my phone lol, if not pm me bud :y:
Thanks goldsax

no idea how much said rubbers are to stop said wobbly gear stick, go to partco, or autoparts or somewhere like that. Ye you can adjust the cable with 2 10mm spanners, its located onto off gear box under the battery tray.

And curt try tightening it more, if not, youll need a new cable mi lad

cheers

Yeh VERY easy to adjust...just get 2 10mm's, (as there should be 2 x 10mm nuts) and just loosen the 1st one away from the other....then tighten the other one, once satisfied tighten the 1st nut up to lock the 2 in place...the pic below points to the bit you need to fiddle with :y:

yeah i had a go.. Sorta. It just seemed like it was turning then spining back round. lol.
But i didnt undo the one and do the other like you said, So ill have another bash.

Edit: Unsure of which way to turn, I searched and found numerous threads with people saying Loosen AND tighten Whos right and whos wrong ?... am i meant to be loosening these bolts or tightening them in order to get my bite Lower down toward floor? Thanks

Hi,

Have someone inside the car lift the clutch pedal all the way UP. Pull on the clutch cable in Goldsax's picture to see how much slack there is, there should be just a little, like this:
http://www.saxperience.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=428&pictureid=3864

In Goldsax's picture there are TWO nuts. The lock nut is 10mm whilst the adjuster is 13mm.

If you need to adjust:
You need to UNDO the one nearest the radiator as it is a lock nut.
Turn the adjuster clockwise until there is a little slack as in the above picture
IF the biting point is too high then slacken
Tighten the lock nut
