View Full Version : Virus on my Laptop?
I have a virus on my laptop. My laptop will only work in Safe Mode and even then the Windows Live One Care will not start and not even Windows Installer won't even work!
What are my options here? Im thinking drop down the stairs atm.

Pop in the Vista/Windows 7 CD and boot off that, and try to system restore using the software of the disc.
Select your language then press next, then when it says Install Now, click onto Repair your computer on the bottom right of the window. Click onto system restore and try and got back to when your computer was working. PM or post here if that doesn't work, loads of other options :)

cant you system restore in safe mode?
Also if its a malware virus look for it in safe mode it might be in the local my documents just delete the file, i have had a few and you can get round them, then do a clean up with a antivirus softwae but to be honest a re format is probably best.

Thread hi-jack lul.
I have a virus on my computer, its malware and its a browser hijacking virus, everytime I search something on Google it re-directs me to another random page, using a "search.pro" search-engine, which is a bullsheet engine.
How the f*ck do I get rid of it? Will buying Kasperksy just protect and not get rid?

I think the best answer here is to format your computer. All you need to do is to reinstall your OS. You will loose your files though. You've mentioned that it is not working even in safe mode right? So I think you have no choice with this but to reformat your PC. And once your done try using a better virus protection ;)

I personally re-format my Mac every month without fail.
To all the above. back up all the shite/crap you need and re-install your OS.

very easy fix as I had malware doctor on my pc which screwed it up. I just created another profile(user) in safe mode. downloaded Malwarbytes and ran it from there, then ran it from safe mode on the infected user profiles. and was sorted
