Just about to send my c.v. and stuff to the new bbc north place at salford queys. Just wondering if anybody works for bbc and what sort of jobs I could be put up for. Obviously don't expect to be a cast member in eastenders or anything. Just wondering what other jobs there would be as the website doesn't have loads of details. Cheers.

Got quite a bit of good info for you bud as I was part of a scheme called Live Insight for 2 years, and regularly met with BBC Television producers and writers and we took part in activities, discussions and feedback relating to potential new content relating to younger people.

One session we spoke to several high ranking TV Programme makers, and I asked them how hard it was to get in. One way is that essentially it depends what sort of area you want. Job's like runners etc are pretty much what you will aim for as it is the first step on the ladder and you have to work your way up.

One thing I found was sometimes it can be a lonely job, as a substantial amount of people who worked there were freelance.

They want to see that you have some sort of experience with the BBC or media aspect, and if you apply to do voluntary schemes it can help massively.
