HAs anyone paid off a HFC finance online? I have the letter and it says you can pay off online, but it says use there sort code and quote your account number.
But online with Barclays it asks you to enter the recipients account number AND sort code but I only have there sort code. What are you meant to do?
Thanks
Matt

you cant do anything with just the sort code... a sort code isnt unique its shared by many people.

This is what I thought but then why is this all they give you, here is a quote from them online
You can make your payment through internet banking, BACS or by sending us a cheque. To pay by internet banking or BACS, you should quote your account number, and our sort code which is 406366.
A quick google and someone says that you use your HFC account number as the recipient account number but I cant see how that would work and if they would even get it.

Why won't it work if you quote the sort code and your account number?
I don't understand why you think it would be a problem.........?

To be honest, I can't make head or tail what the problem is.
The instructions of what to do make perfect sense
"You can make your payment through internet banking, BACS or by sending us a cheque. To pay by internet banking or BACS, you should quote your account number, and our sort code which is 406366"
Or am I missing something......?

Your account number is at the top left of the letter next to account number .

Ive just spoken to Mike Cracknell and he says as they are a bank the account number they give you as your reference or what not is actually the account number you enter as the recipients.
So I have sent it off and its all paid for. Although I had too different sort codes I chose the one which was given to me over the phone, as its the same on the paperwork i got when i took out the finance last year, but it differs from the online sort code. So I will ring monday and check its all gone through.

Isn't this what the online instruction told you to do?
You even quoted it yourself.

I had my account number which i thought was just a reference number, i didnt realise it is what was meant to have been used as the recipient account number. It didnt make sense to me where it should be quoted.
But once i realised it made sense that the reference number was the actually account number for the agreement and i made a payment to it.
