Alot of companys have limited this extension to over 25's now i believe but a few will still cover younger drivers.

The car in question must be insured in it's own right though otherwise you need a traders policy.

Sticky ground recently as many people still seem to be of the opinion that just because they are fully comp that they automatically get the privilege of driving other cars 3rd party.

As already mentioned most require that the person is over 25.

Also it is ONLY the policy holder who can drive other cars 3rd party. If you are fully comp but as an additional driver on someone elses Policy you will not be covered if you are driving any other car.

Have seen alot of people getting caught out by this lately and then having whichever car they are driving seized for not having valid insurance to drive it

As above, most are 25+ and this extension needs to be stated on your certificate of motor insurance also.

Please also be aware that the vehicle your going to drive has to be insured by someone else other than yourself.

If your unsure, call your insurer bud, they will be able to tell you in a a minute or so lol.

Yeah I was fc with 3rd party cover on other cars with Bell at 19.
I think I paid £40 or £50 extra for the year.

I'm not eligible (yet) to get 3rd party cover with any other insurers that I know of.

Fully comp does not allow you to drive other cars.
It is a separate part of the policy and will be stated on your certificate.
