I'll probably get slated for this, but I'd just support it on the jack for something like that (do one side at a time). Perfectly safe as long as you don't crawl under the car.

there is a jacking point on either side place axle stands there or on the chassis rail under each side of car
you can place them anywhere you like really that will support the weight
but dont put them directly on the floor as it will just collapse and push the floor up

lol all though we have all done it, not to be recommended though

never ever ever do that, you never know when your jack is going to fail,

as said by deks i find if you jack it on the jacking point either very far forward or back that means you can get the axle stand on the jacking point aswell, also release the jack so the axle stand takes the weight but leave the jack there as its just an extra safety measure. :y:

I use the plates next to the wishbones? Hard to explain. just jack it up and stick the wheel under the car so if it falls it wont bent the leg up the wheel will keep it up abit....
