in standard form.
standard exhaust etc
possibly lowered 40mm
is it comfortable? eg
can the passenger quite easily sleep?
not bouncy around and feels smooth?
or does it feel shit and no chance of sleeping?

depends really i suppose on what type of coilovers or springs

Toyah can fall asleep in mine, stripped out, loud exhaust and quite harsh suspension... So i'm guessing you'd fall asleep in a GTI lowered 40mm lol.

My ex used to fall asleep in mine, that was a lot lower than 40mm, exhaust wasn't that loud. I wouldn't say they are the most comfortable of cars though... probably the most uncomfortable car I've owned.

I don't think my seats are that uncomfortable.. better things to sit in.. but not the worst, S obviously has more support/bolsters unlike the 1.1's.. therefore your posture will benefit... Win:Win (if you care about spinal conservation).

vtr seats are spot on as a driver as the position is alot better, as a passenger i hate them lol, never tried s seats other then leather retrimmed ones years ago, they were nice, most deffo never tried 1.1's but looking at them they look like my old clio seats lol

i did quite a few trips from south devon to northumberland and back which was 480 miles each way. about an 8 hour drive.
full exhaust, lowered approx 60mm, grp n mounts, and buckets.
its no motorway cruiser, but its not that bad. obviously a standard one would be far more comfy and quieter and i doubt a passenger would have any issues trying to get to sleep.

If your that tired you will sleep regardless of the ride...................... My GF can sleep in my saxo and its got a full decat with just a peco silencer so its loud also its down 40mm at the front.

Never been a problem for me....I live very close to the south coast, and in the 2 1/2 years I owned my VTS, I did this journey about 5 times in her:

And there was three of us in the car on two of these occasions!
Plenty of duvets, you'll be fine :):)

I slept in a VTS with a stupidly loud straight through piper at about 120 in fixed bucket seats going to the ring, so I dont see why a standard car would be hard to sleep in ;)
