loud knock when pulling away

ive got a loud knock coming fron the front passenger side when i pull away. it does it when i change direction, say starting to reverse and when i turn the steering wheel whilst stationary. does this sound like an engine mount gone?

sounds like a drop link hmmm
open ur car door on side it makes the sound and bounce the car if you hear the kncking sound it might just well be a drop link

good be a few things, if its a creaky knock (if you get me) it could well be a wishbone balljoint. could be drop links or could be top mounts.

lee's right tho tbh, could be a number of things, you need to get it on some ramps and have a ganders

yeah will do. it doesnt knock when going over bumps just when i change driving direction and sometimes when i turn.

when your not moving and turning can you hear it?
if you can might be a lose steering rack :P

well funny you should say that because if i hold the steering wheel i can move it about like its loose. ive checked the wheel itself is down tight, so the movement is coming from the rack somewhere.........

on closer inspection the noise is coming from the top of the suspension struts. got someone to have a listen while i turned the steering while stationary and thats defffo the issue. he said there is movement there and when the pressure gets too much when turning at moves over making the knocking noise. :-(
