Do not take your car anywhere that uses the incorrect method.
Where abouts do you live region wise? could point you in the directions of someone reliable who knows what they are doing.

lowering by notches is not accurate and will fubar your bearings, resulting in a new beam

think through the notch method and see how many different ways its wrong, for a start you are only releasing one end of the torsion bar hence twisting it so putting strain on it before there is any weight on it. secondly how can you accurately measure anything without fitting and refitting time and time again which brings me onto the third point, each time the trailing arm is taken off,the notoriously wear prone bearings and seals are disturbed accelerating any wear and tear by damaging the seals and allowing water ingress buggering up the bearings and stub pins in short order. Guess there will be a dozen more reasons for it being bad but they are just the first ones I could think of, hence the reason we don't use the notch method, some say its quicker but i fail to see how! still got to get the torsion bar out at one end which is as much work as drawing them out properly.

Causes the car to think theres more weight in the back which is just bad times!
Like said, make sure they remove both bars!

whenever you lower the rear on a mk1 saxo the resr compression valve should be adjusted to suit.

if the bars are seized just put some sandbags in the boot

Just to add, MK2 VTRs have the compensator valve too.

Infact, all MK2 Saxos (without ABS) bar the VTS have the compensator valve. My bad.
Aly had a few problems with his recently - sounded like a bit of a handful to drive.
