Hi all,

I often use this forum to help on any problems i may have on my saxo (which seems to be getting more often). However i currently have a problem which i cannot find an answer to. Basically i had a slight misfire (i beleive) when first accelerating as the car would really hesitate.

After reading the forums i cleaned the ICV, map sensor and also replaced the coil pack. Whilst doing this i decided to quickly check all the fuses (under bonnet) and found one had blown. I changed this and checked in the manual which fuse this was and it stats it is the air fuel pump.

Since then on a cold startup the car makes a strange noise (like a pump kicking in but sounds a bit like a hairdryer) but i've never heard it before. Unfortunately i don't know how long this has been blown for. I'm unsure if this is normal as apart from this it seems to run absolutely fine.

If it helps the car is a Mk2 saxo vts 52 plate.

Many Thanks.

Hesitant on first accelerating, one of the customers of the company I work for said he had this turned out to be his catalytic converter so might be worth getting checked
