A guy on here has offered to refurb my rear axle for 285(and fit it!). I spoke to a mechanic today & he says I'd be mad to do that. When I asked him why,he said because its only 3 bolts that hold the pins in,and they're not that hard to do.When I said that the guy'd be replacing the bearings etc,he said "It'd only be the stubb-pins need doing-whats the point".Dont know what to do now. What you think?
He also said that a "press" doesnt have to be used to put them back in

not bolts that hold the pins in mate, to get them out u need to heat them up and get a 40 tonne press to pull them out, or there is other methods can be a nightmare of a job
