As halfords are just round the corner and i have bugger all to do for the next week figured the car would get some love. I need a goog wax and polish for my car so thought i would use the bogof offer from them. Can some one recommend me a product. I dont want to spend silly money though. Just remembered i have this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_25 3057_langId_-1_categoryId_165527
So any 2 products i could use in conjunction with this

Super Resin Polish and Megs NXT Spray Wax. Extra Gloss Protection is more a sealant rather that out-n-out wax.

how does wax and polish differ in application. I see you can get hard and spray on products. I once use that ICE spray on and found it crap

Beacuse ICE products are cheap and nasty. If polishing by hand; you'll ideally want a foam/microfibre applicator pads. Halfords do these btw. Apply a small amount onto the pad and work onto the surface with a light pressure until the polish breaks down and disappears; then buff after.

Spray waxes are simply spray, spread thinly over area; leave to haze then buff off with microfibre towel.

a polish will remove/hide swirl marks and make your paint shine, wax will protect the paint. polish needs to be worked in small sections, its no good just wiping it on and then off straight away. wax needs to be applied to and left to cure before being removed.

Ok well due to halfords being out of stock of most products mentioned I went with auto glym srp and egp. Time for the major noob question which do I use first I'm guessing I clean the car then apply srp then egp

My mate went up to the till with two auto glym shampoos and the woman at the till said it was 3for2 so he said he would get another shampoo. She put it through and charged him for the three then he went over and (mistakenly)picked up the HD wax I think it's called got it for free even though it costs a fair bit.
