Probably get about 65000 of these questions a day so I do apologise in advance.

Being 19, most insurance companies will brand me as a yobbo that goes and kicks over wheelie bins for a living and as such wont insure me if I declare an air freshener. I intend to keep my autowagon for a bit longer yet, and would like to put a bigger engine in longer term, be it 8 or 16v.

Was just curious to the people that have done this and have declared it, at what age do the insurance companies think that your an alright driver and go "yeah, i don't see the harm in you wanting a GTI engine, go ahead" without paying the price of about 7 used GTI's?

Obviously, my area isn't classed as the best in the world, and as such I'm used to paying a bit of a higher premium, so I'm not expecting quotes of 300 quid fully comp.

Thanks for reading.

Interesting, I thought it may have been a much later age. I may be in touch come renewals time next year, since I won't have a full 2 years driving experience as of this years renewal (November).
