For "3D TV" and found nothing. I herd sky are offering it to their premium customers for £60 a month :panic: and my ultimate question has been answered: Do you need glasses? All the details about 3D TV and SKY were covered on Newsbeat today.
Anyone going to get a new TV just to watch things in 3d? And why after almost 40 years is 3d coming back into fashion?

Yes i know, i've been waiting for this to be clarified for a while, since it was ever introduced. I thought they were going to put some magic lenses across the screen to make it apare 3D? And i bet there unique glasses like £35 each or some crap and you'll only get 2 in a box when you buy a TV. Those real 3D glasses from Cineworld probably wont work.
I'm interested in anyone whos going to get it? And why do they want it?
J222... I think they film say Toy Story in 2d, then with the modern powers of computing, the computer can make a copy of it in 3D that can choose the optimum effects etc. I don't think its so much of a '3D camera'.
Anyone find that the screen seems smaller when watching a 3D film at the cinema?

When you think about it. A television, once its made, you spend ££££ designing it for optimum picture quality. Then mass produce them with slightly less picture quality then you designed and sell that model for a few months, then you bring out another model with the picture quality you designed only a few months ago. Sell that.
Everyone has a TV and there are so many manufactures. They cant stick to one design as they will never sell so they bring out new shit like this.

Quad definition already exists (resolution of 4000 + as opposed to 1080.. Which we think (and is imo) still amazing).
However.. I've had my computer in HD for 5-6 years... It's been about for a while, TV's just fell way behind.. CRT's were like 320 x something.

I agree.. Computer screens are in the game. Way ahead of them self s.
Whats more, you can watch football on your monitor and dont get the motion blur around the players unlike normal TV's the same size as your monitor. Anyone know why?

Wouldn't even consider buying a 3d tv and signing upto 3d sky for another good few years at least... there wont be many 3d programmes at all and the ones that will be broadcast will be epically crap and not worth the money you will be handing out for it

I saw one of these tvs in currys and they are actually amazing. The glasses are around £60 each. Apparently a tv has been made in america that you don't need glasses with but it's $18000 :n:
