Remove a VTS engine, without removing box with it, have done the latter many many times, just seems very little space to get the shaft out of the clutch without hitting the chassis leg. know how to remove the engine and that its just don't want to do that work if its not possible and have to remove engine, box, bottom wishbone shafts etc.
Thanks :y:

Yes you can, need at least passenger shaft out.
Quicker/easier to pull the box with it

iirc theres 4 bolts which hold the intermediate bearing housing onto the enigne, so if that was undone could i get it out from the top?? bonnet would be removed aswell asits fubar.

Yes it can
Koolio,
so there is enough room to pull the input shaft out of the clutch without clobbering the chassis leg, would be easier to do it that way as i hate doing bottom ball joints lol! Thanks raunchz:y:

well you'll need to unbolt the gearbox and move it hard against the passenger chassis leg to be able to pull the input shaft out of the clutch - then remove the engine upwards.
The engine is too close to the chassis leg to remove it from the gearbox with the gearbox still bolted in
I don't understand why you want to do it?
just take it all out in one piece - would be 10x easier and quicker.

if you hate doing the bottom balljoints ( presume ur on abbout the one on bottom of the strut), just unbolt the wishbones from the car and they will drop rite off the strut after the bolts are out.
