Meshing a mk1 grill

Hi guys,

I want to mesh my MK1 grille but it's the early type. Do I need to buy a grill like this one CLICKY (http://i.ebayimg.com/23/!BywtcC!CGk~$%28KGrHqZ,!h4Ew5Cnom2WBMTHeMvc+g~~_12 .JPG)

Also, on these grills does the middle slat(?) just come off or do you actually have to cut it?

Its an insert, it just comes straight off

id get the newer mk1 grill rather than the first one.. looks nicer ive got the newer one because mines a 1999 looks nice meshed. :)

I think you have to use the newer ones as the old ones, the middle bit is moulded, so you would have to cut it out which would leave a dodgy edge :P

I've got my eye on one, just waiting for the guy to email me back :)

if you can find one just go to your nearest scrap yard and you will be sure to find one there for cheap. :)

The thing is, this one I've got my eye on is the same colour so it's less work for me ;)

No, it's just the standard one from a VTR but the slat is removable on those apparently where as mine is moulded on :)

Yeah, I didn't fancy cutting it out to be honest. I'll just get the later grill :)

yeahh the black plastic bit pops out like you have gotta take some bolts out take ya front lights out and unclip the grill then the middle bit pops out you can do it without removing the grill apparently.. dont know how easy this would be though :)x

Cheers :) If this guy gets back to me then I'll have a proper look at it when I go to collect it. He has a bonnet as well which I might have off him (silly dent in mine) :D

Buy the smiley version, keep the original as there rare and you can put it back on when you come to sell it :)

I don't know, when I decide to sell it I might just leave everything I've done to it on it, might help the selling process. I've got to keep it for another year anyway :)
