The calipers are a straigght swap and iirc you need at least 15" wheels.

As above

Gti6 carriers need a few mm grinding off to avoid fouling the strut. Apart from that gti6 brakes are a direct fit under 15" wheels or bigger.

Tbf if depends on the struts not the brakes.
All bigger conversions need grinding if you have the little knobbly bit on your struts.

Find me one that doesn't and I'll agree with you.
Both the BOSCH later square-end pad 266 calipers and the Lucas 266's do.
The BOSCH Gti180 spec 283mm's do.
And according to the above poster so do the GTi6 brakes.

206 GTi 266mm calipers fit straight on :p

Except the ones that are fitted on my car then, obviously.
Mine are the square-end pad type though, the carrier certainly changed for the two other rounded types though so it's not impossible.
EDIT: I stand corrected, the rounded-end type seem like they fit straight on.
Okay, let's re-phrase.
The majority of big brake conversions require grinding. ;)

I have had 283mm 307 sw brakes and they didn't need grinding. Fitted right on my 2000 vts.
Gti 180 brakes, also, do not need grinding whereas the older gti6 calipers/ carriers do need grinding as stated.

AFAIK (and I've been pissing around with these brakes for too bloody long now) it's your struts that dictate whether they need grinding, NOT the calipers (except as above the early 206 GTi ones)
More to the point this bit, sporty models sometimes don't have it so the caliper doesn't foul the strut, no matter which ones you fit.
