I finally picked up my new saxo (new to me) on Friday lunch time.

It had failed its mot so the garage I brought it from had to fix the bad bits, I think it was 3 new tyres and back breaks that needed fixing.

Anyways I get into my new car and drive up the road and find that the speedometer is not working :n: so off I go back to the garage who where insistant that it was working, after a few words it was agreed to go back into the garage this morning. Not only that I have an air bag light permanently on and also my gear stick is really loose.

I feel like doing this :wall: :wall: :wall:

How much did you buy that for?!
Was it a reputable garage?!

Imo i'd get my money back - depending on how much you paid there are probably better cars for your money out there. :y:

Just sounds like a Saxo TBH, But should have asked to have the MOT done before you picked it up.

You bought a car from a garage with no mot.... :clapping:

It was £2000, an 03reg.

It has full mot on it which picked up the tyres and brakes so the garage has fixed those to get it through the mot.

Now I just need the speedometer and air bag to work properly. And the gear stick adjusting I think.

Spoken to the garage this morning and they are playing the reluctance game so I let rip at them and it should all be fixed by the end of today yay!!!

Well the airbag light is a fail on an MOT so you want that fixed.
Id personally have gotten my money back if they started to try and get out of fixing.
And who knows what else might be wrong with it that hasnt shown up yet.

Airbag light is not an MOT fail in fact it pretty much comes on, on every saxo at some point.

Okay I'm back from the garage. My car goes in tomorrow to have a diagnostics thing plugged in to see what is wrong with the air bag light.

The speedometer not working is caused by the electronic component thing failing so that will be replaced. The gear stick is normal and fine, he did say that saxo's where prone to a wobbly gearstick and its just a ribber ball sort of thing to fix.

Apologies for the non technical language above I'm a girl what can I say, I just want a car that looks good and goes anything technical is beyond me

Oh and piccies

Oh didnt realise it wasnt a fail to have the airbag light on. Dad took my car for its MOT when I first passed and it failed on the airbag light.
None of my other cars have had it come on.

Good luck getting it all sorted, you'll love the car once its running as it should.

Thank you :clapping:

For the life of me I couldn't figure out what I had done to the picture.

So that is my new lil car, as of yet without a name but she drives lovely. A lot better than my old heap of a VW Polo I had. :A:
