I was wandering if anyone could recommend some cheap but decent lowering springs to lower 40mm and could tell mr how much that would put my insurance up by roughly?

wouldn;t waste your time buying CHEAP springs. pay the money and invest in some decent ones spax, apex i recommend both, heard koni are ok too. but buying cheap g-maxx springs will be a terrible ride

How much am I looking at for them? Looking to go about 40mm

I recommend getting a Spax or Apex kit with the dampers/shocks etc.. Save you some money in the long run. For those you are looking at around £150-£200.

I think the spex do 40mm and 60mm and Apex dp 35mm and 50mm but dont quote me on that!

can pick up sets here and ebay for just springs £40-50 for spax n apex, or as above full sets as in dampers springs for £150 and above.

I should have a set for sale. They are Pi ones I think. SHould give a 40mm drop.
You can get away without dampers at 40mm but if you can afford it then get some better ones.

Like the ones people have suggested.

Would these be suitable?

Yes.

And its cheaper to buy a kit, rather than springs and dampers seperate.

£60 to lower is only cheap if the person who is doing it knows what they are doing

Far too many cowboys about at the moment so make sure that you take it to somewhere that has a proven reputation else it could be very costly in the long run or even short term if thy fook it up

If I don't need the dampers I won't get em

It's my bro lol so even if he does fook it up I know where to find him haha but seriously, he is a shit hot mechanic so I'm sure it'll be fine :)

A lot of "shit hot" mechanics also refuse to lower french cars (those with torsion bars).

He knows it's a torsion bar and still quoted 60 for it. The reason he said he will do it cheap is because he's my brother and does everything mechanical to my car.
