will a iphone from america work in uk?

just wondering if anyone has bought an iphone from america and brought it back to the uk and still works,tried google it but nothing realy came up

You will need to get it unlocked then also setup a UK iTunes account so you have access to the App Store UK.

Lots of hassle if you plan on getting a 4 as they have only just jailbroke and unlocked it and there is updates all the time
