she's currently got a jag xkr but needs something a bit more practical. hasn't been the most reliable car either, but she does neglect it
said she's looking to spend about 20k maybe more
i keep suggesting cars i'd like to borrow haha. like a golf gti edition 30, she doesn't like them though. mini cooper s works, she doesn't think they're safe for some reason. must be thinking of the old minis. audi s3 she thinks is ok
she's been to vw today and surprisingly shown a keen interest in a brand new candy white scirocco r they've got in. 2.0 TSI 270bhp! so gonna keep on at her to get that i think!
what you reckon? any other vehicles worth considering? genuine suggestions...
cheers, chris

1.9 Diesel Scirocco with a few extra's is around 33k. Nice cars but they are a bore to drive being a diesel, never experienced a petrol one.
Considered a Vauxhall Insignia?

haha no way she'd get a vts. if she neglected that it'd last about a week!
is the crx available to buy?
aye true the scirocco r is about 29k starting price so prob be nearer 40k after all the options she'd want! she'd be better getting a year old really
would love her to get a frs! suggested an st a while ago aswell. not gonna happen though unfortunately haha. said she definitely doesn't want a focus
she's a bit of a badge queen to be honest and dislikes cars for silly reasons. a lot of her choices are based on purely the looks
she has shown interest in a new megane and that new peugeot rcz though

Was looking at some prices just the other day. To be fair, a Scirocco R with manual box can be bought for £28,500 and the Golf for £30,090. A 19inch wheel upgrade only puts £500 on the price.
By the way, as well as the VWs, I'd also look at a nearly new Audi S3 if I had that sort of cash.
*Edit - just read she's looked at the Audi.

ludicrous i know. they'll be just as safe as all the other cars she's looking at. tried to tell her this though. wasting my breath. i think it's cos she's a shit driver and is worried about the prospect of a motorway crash. oh well minis are so common round here, i've only seen one or two sciroccos!
would be a great buy if she'll stretch to it. it's a fair jump from the 20k she had in mind!

chap across from us had a fiat panda 100. good little cars but a bit small really
she wouldn't want a beemer apart from maybe a z4 or similar
fiat 500 abarth is a good option. fiat though. has the reliablility improved?

Viper whats impractical about the Jag?
the jag is a 2 seater. it has 2 'seats' in the back but you'd struggle to get 2 new born babies in them. i've been in the back once by myself sitting sideways along the seats and still felt like a sardine. this car has made her realise she does sometimes carry more than one passenger and needs more space
also she keeps bloody pranging it. banged the mirror, the rear light, headlight, etc. so costly to repair, she needs something a bit less expensive
kclipston EVO 9 rallyart
not really a mums car but think about when your borrowing it
if she wont go for the evo then push for the scirocco
lol would be ideal for me, can't see her going for it though!
tempted to mention the focus rs again but i think she might see through my suggestion

Insignia all the the way... 2.2 twin port... or the 2.0 turbo...
good cars... look mean as fuck... hella practical and nice and quick!
not too bad on fuel either!

sorry yeah did look at insignias just forgot to reply before. i do like vauxhalls and that insignia looks good. vxr 2.8 turbos going for just over 20k here too and they look top! dunno if she'll agree though. will suggest it as an option anyway

she's got a weird thing about diesels, usual ignorant view. up to her though i guess. will mention a 3 series coupe anyway. there's a beemer dealer just up the road aswell
the jag and audi dealers aren't in blackpool. not that it really matters but it's putting her off. silly again really but what can i say
the thing is she doesn't want the 'hassle' of selling her car privately. which means she's planning to trade it in against something else at a dealership. so she'll lose loads on the sale and get stung when buying. it's just the costliest way of doing things
i'm even tempted to say i'll sell it for more if she'll give me a cut. i'm not insured on it though and really busy myself at the min
if she could sell it privately though, not only should she make more but she'd have a choice of any car including all privately owned, instead of being forced to buy from a main dealer. so loads more options of makes and models plus she could buy a year old fully specced car which i think would be her best option
