got a set of 98 struts with flat tapered wheel bearings
but i have tapered shafts
how hard is it to take a wheel bearing out then put it back into a strut?(front struts)
do they have to be machine pressed in ?
or can be hammered?
cheers

The bearings all look flat in my experience. Are you 100% sure they are wrong?
I'm pretty sure the bearings won't press onto a different hub too. So you have to change the hub accordingly.

apparently theres two different sorts of bearings
one for flat shafts
and one for tapered shafts
i havent seen them to give a 100% yes/no difference.

you will knacker the bearings getting them in and out and on/off hubs

You can't g clamp them in
Just get them pressed in properly, only cost a few pounds to get done.

I used the Old Bearing Case to tap the new one in..and a Heavy Duty Vice too...It can be done, more than 5k and still going strong :)
