I'm thinking of buying either a vtr or a vts next year, and wandered if people could tell me what the difference is? Obv apart from vts being 16v.
Cheers

VTS is faster than a VTR
If you're not THAT bothered about speed and want something with decent handling and cheap to run then get a VTR

VTS is quicker on paper, but due to the extra torquez low down in the rev range a VTR will leave a VTS for dust, it'll also hit 60 in second gear etc etc. K&N air filter gives ~50BHP, electric supercharger + cat-back exhaust and you're looking at well over 300BHP.

You forgot superchip + 73bhp and stage one nitros +128 bhp
Don't hit the limiter for more than 3 secs or your engine will total.

I herd VTS's burst into flames if they go over 80!! so based on that id buy a vtr with stays un burnt right up to 90 ;)

Unnecessary. All you need is fog lights.
Interiors are different as well.

The sound deadening carpet under the bonnet on the VTR is much better than on the VTS.
Adds about 30bhp and stops the car blowing up.

In all seriousness, the VTR is a decent budget car that's still fun. The VTS is probably for those who want more fun accelerating and have deeper wallets. Top and bottom of it.

VTR is far cheaper to run, VTS will cost you alot more in tax, insurance (age depending) and drinks petrol.
ABS goes wrong on them alot, oil breather comes out, other than than usual saxo problems.

As said,
The VTR is the 'better' option, more economical, slightly more reliable and still bags of fun.
But sayin that i want a VTS, so then i have had the lot! :0

dont get either, i wont buy another saxo, the problems they get is stupid, i had to change HG both driveshafts, all the knocking noise to, my problems where more serious than most get but still, it not worth the hassle unless it was a vts and eve nthen it have to be good deal
