The time has come for a new coat. My previous coat has got me through many ski holidays (temps down to -25), cold winters, torrential rain storms when walking the dog and all for a bargain price of £80 about 10 years ago.
Its a Dare2Be coat with removable fleece.
So i need some suggestions to replace this, i don't really want to spend more than £150, want something warm, light, waterproof, etc....
I have seen a really nice Spider one but its £850!!!!!!! lol

any suggestions?

Thought I'd put in my two cents...

I've had a Quiksilver, Bonfire, Ride and Burton coats for snowboarding.

Bonfire look good but don't last long, Ride were nice but limited avaliablity/colours but by far the best make I've had is Burton. Sure, it's a bit of a scene brand but they're very good. On my second one now, waterproofing is brilliant as is the windstopping. I was very grateful to have one on the side of the French Alps in -19 and -36 with the windchill.

Try these places -

Alot of discounts to be had at the mo coz it's supposedly summer :D

I have a Nike ACG Jacket it's pretty good, kept me warm when I went to Austria in January, mine is a bit heavy but this looks abit lighter but it's basically the same as what I have, there also pretty good quality from my experience.

On all Ski holidays I've been on have usually been Berghaus or Tog24 stuff nothing fancy. People in my family use Spider stuff and like you say It is very expensive but very good.

My priority is usually Gortex socks because when I went on a Ski Holiday in Lake Louise Canada my feet froze on many occassions. When I went to France I got some expensive Gortex socks and it was amazing.
