View Full Version : Bots roaming on Saxperience

I did a quick search to see if this had been covered before.
Has anyone gone onto the "Who's Online section"
It shows many various guests, un registered people who view the forum are listed as "Guests" but there are bots as well.
As these bots setup to collect our information? I am a little concerned since there seems to be a lot of them.
Does anyone have any idea how they work? I see some have a STOP sign beside them and say this Bot cannot view information, I don't know if this is an automated system of Saxperience or if Mods are doing it.
This is what I'm talking about:

I thought they were just Search Engine bots which spider sites so they can rank the pages on the search engine.
Surely thats a good thing??

Search engine spiders as said, they just crawl all the websites and basically report it back to the search engine to be indexed.
Stuff on here gets indexed pretty quick.

Search engine rankings is publicity for the site so new members and a bigger saxp community :)

more bots we have, the more chances when someone searches " saxo coil pack" or something like that, it will link them to articles on this website.

As said before, it's so that when stuff gets searched on Google etc, the bots have indexed it, and it comes up as a result.
