Alright guys i've been recently considering going to aberdeen to do an rgit course so i can go offshore , my auntie and uncle own there own company ( Whale watching ) So i think they have a few good contacts as they're two sons have both been offshore and one has been for over 10 years and has been making excellent money owns an audi s3 and his own house jet ski etc, I've got experience in some welding and working with an engineering crowd now and they say if you can weld and have experience offshore is your best bet for mega money, anyone work offshore or know much about it? How difficult the course is? I know the RGIT is about £600 !

Cheers.

Also to combine with this you may want to consider doing the IRATA course as this seems to be helpful for offshore work according to a few riggers I know.

It's for working on ropes at height so very useful for offshore work and is a worldwide recognised qualification.

It's a week long course and costs about £1k but is a pretty much guaranteed pass.

Seen that actually, boys hanging over water on a rope, aka dope on a rope, looks mental wouldnt really fancy it.
