Why do some threads get locked and others get deleted?
Why don't all the pointless threads get deleted with a pm to op with reason?
This thread will probably end up in either situation, just interested.

Deleted if it seriously damages the reputation of the site somehow. Closed if it damages the reputation of a member.

Sometimes its good to just close a thread to show others that infractions or warnings are issued to people who break the forum rules.
If its something really innapropriate though it just gets deleted straight away.

I hate it how the person who closes it always gets the last word in

I think it depends what's in the thread...
Like offensive threads will be deleted. Others that just have pointless arguments will be closed to stop the argument.

Lol Mods love having the last word, Damn them!
Does anyone else scan through general chat for locked threads and see what went down?

Any serious thread seems to get locked these days, because so many members aren't able to input a seriously thought out reply, and therefor we're left with boring pointless threads which have no point of discussion.
As fallout boy would say, 'Were going down, down!'

They usually have the last word to let others know why they've locked the thread. Like Mark51 does..
Or they sometimes do it just for the lols like Scott :p

You are so wrong.......
Serious threads only get locked if the usual morons on the forum keep spamming them.
Edit: If we dont comment making people aware who locked the thread people start moaning.....life would be much simpler if we didnt!

Because it was a serious and mature reply? It's the fault of those you aren't able to respond in such a way who are to blame for so many arguments breaking as a result, threads being locked/deleted.

^ You get a PM saying you've recieved an infraction
And if you get a ban, most are a week long, so you can still log in i think but can't post
