If Newcastle don't concede in the first half they can go home happy... thats the only victory they're getting from this game.

Pipe down scum.

Hope the Geordie's pull their fingers out and shock the scum.

Especially if you get Ben Arfa...quality bit of player, although a sulky cunt.

Not yet no. Doubt Marseille would want to keep somebody who goes on strike tbh...

Although what's to say he won't do the same to Newcastle once he realises they aren't actually a big club...?

Err noone asked for your opinion... Dont let the door hit you on the way out ;)

Normally id want/be happy with a draw from playing the top four but i relly want the boys to win this one being the first game back in the prem.

For fuck sake.

At least put up a fight. Now all I'm going to get is gloating Mancs..

Just going to get this in before anyone tries:

Calm down. You only beat Newcastle. We played Arsenal with 10 men, and getting used to a new style of play and tactics, still gelling. Yes a howler gave them the win but we played quite solidly and will only get better.

/rant.

I have to admit liverpool looked good with 10 men yday against arsenal

winning 2-0 at half time is nice, could do with putting a few more in for goal difference though!

Even my friends who are Liverpool haters said how solid we looked against Arsenal...a team possessed he said.

We are looking very good indeed.

Let's not turn this in to a liverpoo v man utd thread ay! We hate you, you hate us get over it!

Man utd are looking good so far, rooney doesn't look very sharp but I'm sure he will pick up again soon!

Newcastle were doing ok at the start but seem to be lacking the drive to win!

4-0 man utd I think!

Neither am i man, I thought 1-0 or even a cheeky 0-0, we need to sort it out quickly. But its only the first game so lets see how we develop. Hope Mike Cunt Ashley gives us some funds to get a couple more players in

Fucking shambles

In the first half everytime Newcastle had the ball forward, there was only one man, he had no support every time

Every time Man U pressed forward it was fast paced, with people making runs everywhere

Wasn't til the second half that Newcastle pushed people forward, but even then there was no runs, and they were just running and falling over their own feet because they were trying too hard

Pissy defending aswell they got opened up well and truly

Shame i had high expectations after last season but we didn't perform at all today, why did it need a half time talk to get people to push forward eventually, Newcastle have always been an attacking side but not today?

I don't think Newcastle played disgracefully but they did make a lot of sloppy mistakes.

I'm sure they'll pick up throughout the season. I actually do hope they stay up, I think they play some nice football.

Will be interesting to see how the next month or so pans out for all teams concerned tbh. Personally I believe Newcastle belong in the Premiership but man...the class of players is very low...they NEED people like Ben Arfa to provide real quality.

Theyve just been promoted if you hadnt noticed ? They are not going to attract the best of players or have a huge transfer kitty. We have a few decent players and some good youngsters. Theres about 6 teams worse than us anyway. We are in a rebuilding process and a transition period. Going down may have been a blessing in disguise. getting rid of the over paid shite and bringing abit of stability to the club, something we have lacked for years

You have a massive foundation of potential. A substantial loyal following, a superb stadium and a good heritage. That should attract some sort of decent players imo, ones who are talented and young. If you get Ben Arfa and at least another 2-3 good players you could do well.

I guess Liverpool are going through a mini transitional period too. Getting rid of the power hungry Benitez and finally getting rid of some bullshit players and re-organising our tactics. I was quite happy with Sunday's performance tbh. Obviously still need to gel a bit more.

I still don't like James Perch though bud...sorry.

I'd be happy with Arfa, a proven RB and DM. Problem with playing nolan and smith is that the midfield is so slow, there was no creativity at all. Next few games will give a better indication as to how season will go

Smith to me is deadwood...there is nothing special about him at all. I do rate Nolan though, I've always liked his style of play.

I really liked Smith at Leeds, then when he came to United he was mediocre at best but a fucking hot head (which I like to see now and again)
Playing against him tonight I've realised he's a right c*nt. LOL.

I never quoted that statement. I quoted your post. Your post had one fact and the rest opinion. Such as you're better than 6 of the clubs. Or going down was a blessing in disguise. Another opinion.

Man Utd played a very good game, Scholes was outstanding all match!

Newcastle were OK I thought in the first half, but a few players took there time with the ball and for instance in the first goal, you need to be quicker as Premiership is a much quicker pace.

Good game in all and I still reckon Newcastle will stay up. It's just the bigger teams they'll struggle with. Mid table finish I reckon.

to be honest, despite us getting beat 3-0 i think we can take a number of positives from that performance. we were never gonna get a result at old trafford anyone thinking otherwise is a complete dreamer. however we looked like a team playing with unity and kept our heads up for the full 90 minutes. yes we could have let in about 8 or 9 if man U were top of their game, but then again if Andy Carroll had planted that first half header it could have been a completely different game. i can see us picking up results against the more mediocre teams in the league, and hopefully manage to get enough points to stay up and bring about the stability that we desperately need.

Newcastle fan here, perch was very shit really. After that performance though I don't think we will go down. If we had Taylor playing RB we would of been fairly solid. I will take a 3-0 specially when the last goal was so good.
