As above,

Has signed today on a pay as you play deal for Crystal Palace.

Good signing or not?

Im not saying he isnt a good player because he is but is this just a publicity stunt? He has been out of football for over 2 years.

If he can produce anything near his old magic then im sure he will be a very good signing for them but i cant help think its just a publicity stunt so palace can sell a few more shirts/merchandise.

its the same reason we bought him when we did...

to provide a bite in midfield
and to sell some shirts and tickets

Well past his 'use by' date.

+1...

He is way past it. A shadow of his former self. I doubt he will play the full 90, let alone 45 minutes tbh. A marquee player like they have in the Australian league really.

i really hate it when modern day legend players like davids prolongs his career. i remember his days of juventus, inter, resurrecting barecelona.

when he came to us i was chuffed but i knew why he joined... he should have just retired at ajax when he left us

Same. It's really sad to see a once world class player..now plying his trade in the lower leagues..

Although he has done the trick though. I now will try and get tickets to Watford v Palace..just to see him lol :homme:

Too true yid.

I suppose i will see him blowing out of his ass running round the pitch at The Den this season when we play palace.

but scholes can still perform at the highest level... like giggs. davids hasnt played for two years. that must say something about his play

his close control is good due to his continuing involvement in street football. Not seen him play 11-a-side in ages

Yup don't get me wrong he will probably be shit & past it but I spose atleast he can help with the younger kids coaching etc like I hope campbell will do for us (although very unlikely)

When i 1st heard this i must admit i did lol, the blokes 37 ffs. He was a quality player back in his day, but i have my doubts about his fitness and stamina now. Aslong as he brings a fraction of his skill and class that he useed to have to selhurst park i will be a happy man.
At the end of the day we talking palace here, were not going to ever be able to afford world class players, so fuck it we will just wait till they retire and then snap them up.

Palace are in a win win situation here.

Pay as you play and they will sell a shit load of his shirts/ merchandise. Massive possibilties of making a profit :)
