Playstation 3 Finally Hacked?

Just seen a quick thing on the news on BBC three.

Has anyone heard anything else today about the ps3 being hacked/jailbroken etc?

For them to mention it on there it must be genuine.

Looks like it's done using a USB stick.

Maybe it's crap, or I'm just late in hearing about it but here is a link I found with a video anyway..

A group called PSJailbreak claim to have hacked the console. Its apparently done using software on a USB dongle and essentially changes your console into a dev unit that can store games on the hard drive.

It won't last long tho (if it's even genuine)...Sony will more than likely release new firmware that will make the dongle useless.

seen this the other day, looks genuine but the dongle is expensive lol

hopefully they wont be able to stop it as the ps3 shud have been cracked years ago tbh, and i want free games lol

lol i wouldnt buy copyed games my mate got his wii chipped got hunderd games on memory card or cards

I had my old PS2 chipped and got games for 2 or 3 quid :y: Only thing was it stopped it playing DVD's
