Ive had my set for a couple of years, not had many things go wrong. Occasionally snapped a allen key or torx bit.

Make sure you keep the receipt so you can exchange tools if they break.
Also the mechanisms on the ratches arent covered by the lifetime warranty.

Used to work in halfords

Yer the lifetime garantee has to be taken with a pinch of salt, if the tool is ment to take any straint ie rachet mechanism, breaker bar socket bit the socktet goes onto or the end of a screwdriver they wont cover you.

Snap-on is the only company i know who do but then you could buy three of what ever you want in halfords for one snap on.

The screwdriver bits are covered, its only the mechanism for the ratchets. And the release button on the long bar. Which is what has failed on mine :(

However if you get a nice person they sometimes will change it anyway.

Had the same Snap-On rachet for over 12 years I might have paid over £70 and it was worth every penny.

I've used a scaffolding pole for some extra leverage on it and didn't do one bit of damage to the mechancisms inside, if i was to have used the Halfords or even Teng,Britool and such I would have had to buy a new one.

Aslong as I show the Snap-On dealer the said tool and doesn't show excessive wear (which it doesn't) I will always either get it fixed or be given a new one.

One of the guys I work with fell for the "lifetime guarantee" to find out the inside werent covered

I've got one of those £100 sets - pretty good for the money. My only grumble is the ratchets jam occasionally.

Great set for the cash when on offer, although the mechanisms don't have a guarantee halfords sell the repair kits for like £3 and its easy to do with the design of the tools (ratchets only)
