i have the opportunity to get a vtr in excellent condition inside and out, no marks whatso ever on a x reg vtr on 52k miles FSH in red taxed and mot'd for 700 quids

from what ive been told it seems that it is likely to be a mk2 body but with a mk1 engine, and after looking into it more the mk1 engine isnt as good overall as the mk2 engine.

so im looking for advice on this

is it worth buying it and using it for awhile then sell up a few months down the line for more ££ because vtr's at this spec are surely worth more than 700 pounds?

what do you lot reckon?

is it a profitable buy?

If its in as good as a condition as you say it is, £700 is a steal! But id give it a good once over as it may have a hidden problem for the low pricing.

you have proof that mileage is genuine?

well its a part exchange thats coming into where i work and from the looks of the previous owner they were quite old and looking for something new

on the system it was noted as mechanically and electrically sound

but yes i will definately test it and have a proper look

rough guess at what i could possibly get for it a few months down the line?
i wont be doing heavy mileage on it so will stay way under 60k

is a mk2 engine really that much better than a mk1? 8bhp difference or something?

well i was talking in terms of the mk2 being faster, emissions lower so cheaper tax, mpg better etc...

Im thinking if it stays in good condition you could make £500 and sell it for £1200

much appreicated :)

best to keep it standard?

if i was to doing anything to it, it would be lower it and thats about it

but could always return to standard height again

Definantly best to keep it standard bud! lowering it wont affect its value I wouldnt imagine.
