Been to reading the past two years but not going this year.
Really was unimpressed last year, I actually left early. So many problems with everything. Some fucking genious covered all the stage areas with dust, so as soon as everyone walked on it the dust flew in the air. I left the main stage after a band with my face black, spitting out dirt. I had to buy a bandana to wear round my face it was so bad, and a lot of other people had them as well.
Sunday night riots were pretty bad as well. A riot officer was pushed off his quad bike and the quad threw in a fire. Lots of people hiding in their tents the whole night. I saw one tent with two people inside be dragged onto a fire. Im not paying the best of 200 quid for that.
Line up is awful this year as well, only about 5 bands I want to see I havent seen already.
I like festivals, not last year but the year before was definitely better than last year, but they have changed the type of music there. There was hardly any metal bands last year, or this year. Mainly indie stuff now and I dont get on with that.

Just going for the Saturday as I went to beachbreak. Never been before but all my mates say it's not been as good as the first years it started, and each years the audience are younger and younger.

You go to a rock festival and getting dust in your eyes ruins it for you lol??

It didnt ruin it. I just was saying it was a problem, and one that I doubt is going to be fixed this year.. It was fine the first day, but after spending hours on end breathing in dirt I ended up moving further from the stage.
I also went to Download and Sonisphere, and have been to other smaller festivals over the years. All of them were better than Reading last year, without a shadow of a doubt. The lineup last year wasn't crap, but it wasn't exactly amazing. There were a few really good bands last year, which made my weekend, but the only bands I havent seen this year I would pay to see are Trash Talk, A day to Remember and Bad Religion. I have already seen a good 15 of the main bands.
The riots I saw were in green camp, and after reading up on the Reading forums it seems like the riots were worse in green than in yellow. The majority of the people there are kids who have just finished their GCSEs and whose mummy and daddy paid for them to go away for a weekend as a well done. They get away with drinking and rioting and it ruins it for the people who actually go for the music and the atmosphere.
Besides... nothing will ever ever top Tenacious D's act two years ago :clapping:
