evening all,
so weve all got them ugly plastic mirrors, with that even worse pattern in them...
im planning on (mid way through) sanding them down and spraying gloss black, however the pattern is VERY hard to sand out... used 80 grit wet and draw and 100 grit sand paper and it is coming off, but very very slowly... is there a better way to do this?
thanks

filler primer. might take out pattern, can;t really remember how deep pattern is tho. so may be a total waste of time.
prob only able to sand out, unless u heat up a flat knfife and run it over the pattern to kinda flatern it out then a quick sand over maybe?

keep sanding it down mate thats what i had to do takes agers but if you get it quite smooth then use high build primer and it comes out really smooth

tbh you shouldn't of started with 80 grit, thats too harsh to use on plastic, it just cuts/gouges the plastic, when i remove texture i start with 180-240ish and work up through grades

I started with 240 i think it was but i may aswell have used a sponge, wasnt working at all, im finding 100 sand is better than 120 w&d and ive nearly finished one mirror...
What grade should i work up to before priming?

as black sheep said dont use 80 grit on plastic, will un even the surface.
120 grit is fine. gues your doing it by hand?
