The professionalism does help... yes but you can still be a munter with a pro photographer. No amount of editing will sort that out.

And anyway... if you're asked to submit a pic for a competition, of course you're going to go to those extremes... well not for her as she does modelling anyway. Just like if and when people submit photo's of cars, landscapes, etc... You have a chance to compete so why wouldn't you go professional?
