Well I got rid of my saxo in style, flipped it on track
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj15/stupotvtr/photo-21.jpg
So now I've got a short list of cars :
Leon cupra R -06 shape
Cliosport ph2 172,182,cup etc
Ibiza cupra 05 shape
Ibiza fr 05 shape
I'll be 20 when I get the car and have 1ncb so insurance is a big player in this don't want to pay more than 2k insurance. Looking at a budget of 6k for the car.
Opinions or any other suggestions?

Also it would help if you told us what you want from the car. Luxury, speed, looks etc.

Basicly want something as fast as my saxo which was a cammed 16v but with looks and a bit of comfort. Things like focus rs astra vxr but within my budget. Open to any wild cars ideas though.

I'd get a MK1 Leon Cupra-R if I was you!! Looking f*cking awesome, few mods and a decent remap and you'll see ~280BHP - so will be quick as shit and fuck all over majority of things on the road. It'll be a lot faster than your cammed 16v as well!

Yeah hence cupra at the top of the list just need to get the insurance under 2k. Did a quick check on confused came back 2.5k so hopefully specialists like Adrian flux will be cheaper.

Oh you meant MK1 then? Because I think the Mk2 came out in 2006 at some point, so wasn't sure if you meant Mk1 or Mk2.
Tried Elephant/Admiral? They're usually good for me.

Yeah mk1, I ment up to 06 sorry. That was the price from admiral.

Would love a e46 M3 but insurance would blow that out the water. TT possibly. Not a fan of st170. What asta gsi mk4?
Also want the car to be sort of 03 plate or later but wouldn't mind an older car aslong as it's reliable or specially fast

The Seats seem to have alot of potential for tuning. The cliosport's would be very fun especially on track but to get more power means cams which cost £800 plus mapping or turbo but I don't have that type of cash.

Yea Mk4 Astra Gsi. There quick and comfy, 197bhp standard and only group 15 insurance which isn't too bad. Get a VXR turbo on it and they are very fast!

I've never really looked into vauhalls or there tuning ability, might have to do some research

There nice mate. Better than a saxo. Quick and look pretty good. Insurance can be abit steep but same with all the cars your looking at. Can pick them up fairly cheep;y now as well :y:

cliosport and ibiza cupra were both 1.8k insurance so not bad. Just don't know if the clio would get boring after a while because the only options for engine tunning are start at 1k

You caould go vtec but insurance may be a killer on that one. For 6k you could get a tidy Ep3. Personally I like ek9's there mint and 0-60 is like 6 seconds :fcuk:

Nah not a big fan of hondas there far to common here two of my mates have ep3s. Old ones like ek9 or dc2 are cool but insurance would rape me

How the fuck did you manage that.. track, corner etc?
Not sure how much time youve spent on track but i learnt quite quickly its a lot better to have a cheaper car and more money for days so id vote nothing over 200hp or to new as inital buy will suck up a lot of days.
E30,E36 Bmw's maybe or a 200sx ? EArly clio 172 would be good too and still retain wrong wheel drive.

Did it at knockhill in the rain there's a wee right hander with opposite camber and I spun it into the gravel it dug in and flipped.
Yeah new car will be an everyday car but will see a few dry track days. Can get a good quote on a 200sx but there mostly high mileage due to there age. Don't supose you know what mpg they get?

Knockhill is one of the few I haven't done sounds nasty never heard of a car digging in before that mist of shit you right up lol..
Never looked at mpg most probly mid to high twentys combined?

The Mk4 aint that fast, really heavy machine, but they aren't 197bhp they are over 200bhp, they are 204bhp i think to be precise
But they aren't that quick, once you get them going they will pull alright but nothing special and doesn't feel fast at all, very boring
My Rallye used to be slightly quicker than my mates GSi to about 65/70mph, and thats from the guys own mouth not mine. Rallye was 124bhp so VTS/GTI speed
But they can be made quick with a VXR turbo, injectors, front mount intercooler and remap...see's a good 230-240bhp
Handling is piss poor aswell, and your cammed Saxo won't be much slower, and will feel quicker and be more fun to drive
Don't get one

Seen quite a few cars digging in to the gravel an rolling at knockhill, at the same event last year a guy did the same but went over the tyre wall! And a fiesta race car did it earlier this year too so gravel isn't much of a safety feature.
Might have to look at 200sx's again but it's just the age that puts me off and a rebuild ain't cheep!
Cheers for the input Peter I always though vauxhalls were underpowered for there engine size.
